This is the most simple option there is, you enroll for the AHA BLS class, show up, and review all the didactic portions through videos and instruction in class. 

You will then take the exam after practicing all the hands-on skills you learned from the videos reviewed in class.

BLS, CPR/FA/AED, ACLS, & PALS

BASIC LIFE SUPPORT

     Basic Life Support, or BLS, generally refers to the type of care that first-responders, healthcare providers and public safety professionals provide to anyone who is experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress or an obstructed airway..

     Basic Life Support, or BLS, generally refers to the type of care that first-responders, healthcare providers and public safety professionals provide to anyone who is experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress or an obstructed airway..

Professions that require aha BLS certification include nurses (RN), nursing students, doctors, medical assistants, hospital technicians, dental assistants, EMT, physical and occupational therapists, firefighters, paramedics, dentists, respiratory therapists, and more. But you don’t have to be a medical professional to get BLS certification.

– High-quality CPR for adults, children, and infants
– Important early use of an AED
– Effective ventilations using a barrier device
– Importance of teams in multi-rescuer resuscitation and performance as an effective team member during multi-rescuer CPR
– Relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (choking) for adults and infants

Depending on the organization you need, the basic life support (BLS) courses can last anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours. This is due to our 1-to-1 student-mannequin ratios that enable more hands-on practice in a shorter period.

For Basic Life Support (BLS), if you’re taking the full class with us, you just show up! Well take care of the rest.

If you are taking any blended option (skills session), whether with the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or American Health & Safety Institute (ASHI), you will need to complete an online component prior to attending class. 

CPR/FA/AED

First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, and Automated External Defibrillator refers to the different types of care available for layman/public responders to provide for an emergency

The course is designed for anyone with little or no medical training.

– First aid basics (cuts, nose bleeds, burns, heat exhaustion, etc.)
– Medical emergencies
– Injury Emergencies
– Environmental emergencies
– Preventing illness and injury
– Adult CPR and AED use
– Opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies
– Optional modules in Child CPR AED and Infant CPR

Depending on the organization you need, the CPR / FA / AED class variations can last anywhere from 1 to 3 hours. This is due to our 1-to-1 student-mannequin ratios that enable more hands-on practice in a shorter period.

For CPR/FA/AED courses, we offer the blended option (skills session).

Whether with the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or American Health & Safety Institute (ASHI), you will need to complete an online component prior to attending class.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support

For healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies and for personnel in emergency response

– Building on your Basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED
– Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
– Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia
– Airway management
– Related pharmacology
– Management of ACS and stroke
– Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team

Advanced Cardiovasular life Support (ACLS) can last anywhere from 1.5-4 hours.

This does not include any prep work that is required prior to class. If you were to consider this, it can last from 5-10 hours.

The prep work required will depend on your status as a renewal or initial student and your experience / knowledge base on ACLS. 

For Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) , depending on if youre an initial or renewal. You will either need to complete the pre-test (if renewing) or both the pre-test and pre-course work (if you’re an initial).

The ACLS pre-test generally last 30 minutes with each attempt. You need a passing score of 70%.

The ACLS pre-course work can last, on average, anywhere from 4-6 hours. This is mandatory for first time students.

The statements above do not include any additional studying you feel necessary to adequately prepare for the ACLS class.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support

PALS is geared toward healthcare providers who respond to emergencies in infants and children and for personnel in emergency response, emergency medicine, intensive care and critical care units

Throughout your PALS course, you’ll learn to assess, recognize and provide high-quality care to pediatric patients experiencing life-threatening medical emergencies, including shock, cardiac and respiratory events, and how to provide care after the return of spontaneous circulation (ROSC) during a resuscitation effort.

Pediatric Advanced life Support (PALS) can last anywhere from 1.5-4 hours.

This does not include any prep work that is required prior to class. If you were to consider this, it can last from 5-10 hours.

The prep work required will depend on your status as a renewal or initial student and your experience / knowledge base on PALS.
