AHA ASLS Skills Evaluation in Southwest Houston

Advanced Stroke Life Support (ASLS) is the American Heart Association’s advanced course for healthcare professionals who identify, evaluate and manage patients with acute stroke. ASLS is a stroke course. It is not the same as ACLS.

How the Cardiox ASLS route works

  1. Online provider track. You complete the AHA ASLS online course for your track on your own.
  2. In-person skills evaluation with us. Stroke-scale demonstration, stroke-syndrome evaluation, neurologic assessment and scenario performance with an ASLS Instructor. About 1 hour.

There is no separate Cardiox ASLS Initial class and no separate ASLS Renewal class. This one route is how Cardiox delivers ASLS.

Your track has to match

AHA ASLS has three provider tracks, and the evaluation you book must match the track printed on your online completion certificate:

  • Prehospital Provider – paramedics, EMS, fire and rescue, transport teams.
  • In-Hospital Provider – nurses, stroke coordinators, physicians, PAs and APPs.
  • Prehospital & In-Hospital Provider – clinicians working across both settings, and ASLS instructor candidates.

Please do not book a different track because it is available sooner.

AHA ASLS Provider credentials are valid for 2 years.
