Choose AHA BLS Provider if…
Your school, employer, hospital, dental office, EMS program, nursing program, or clinical site asks for BLS, AHA BLS, BLS Provider, or BLS for Healthcare Providers.
Choose BLS Renewal if…
You already have BLS training and need to renew or recertify an expiring AHA BLS card. Renewal is usually better when your card is current or recently expired and your requirement allows it.
Choose HeartCode skills if…
You completed the AHA HeartCode BLS online portion and need the hands-on skills session with an AHA Instructor to complete your BLS card requirements.
Choose Heartsaver if…
Your requirement says CPR, AED, First Aid, workplace CPR, childcare CPR, teacher CPR, coaching CPR, or general public CPR instead of BLS. Heartsaver is usually the better fit for non-healthcare requirements.

What to expect in class
AHA BLS is a practice-based class. You spend most of your time on the manikins with an instructor right next to you, practicing adult, child, and infant skills, then complete a skills check where required before you finish.

- Generally valid for two yearsAHA BLS course completion cards are generally valid for two years, through the end of the month they were issued. Many students renew before expiration so there is no gap.
- Recognized across healthcare settingsAn AHA BLS card may be required by schools, employers, hospitals, dental programs, EMS programs, clinical sites, and credentialing departments.
